Job Title: Senior grade Speech and Language Therapist
Location: Athlone (covering Athlone, Moate & Ferbane)
Hours: 35 hours per week

Excel Recruitment are recruiting a Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join a friendly, well-resourced children disability team in Athlone. The Senior Speech and Language Therapist will be based in Athlone covering Moate, and Ferbane.
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Speech and Language Therapist to join a dynamic Primary Care team on a full-time contract basis.
As a Senior Speech and Language Therapist, you will provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, and intervention to children and young people (0-18 years) with complex needs arising from disability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver a high-quality Speech and Language Therapy service including assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and outcome measurement for children and young people.
2. Manage a varied caseload, including children with complex developmental needs, intellectual disabilities, and communication difficulties.
3. Provide leadership and clinical support to junior colleagues and contribute to interdisciplinary case discussions.
4. Collaborate closely with families, carers, schools, and other key stakeholders to develop individualised care plans.
5. Contribute to service planning, policy development, and clinical audits to ensure continuous improvement.
6. Promote evidence-based practice and participate in supervision, CPD, and training activities.
7. Work independently while also contributing as an integral member of a collaborative and supportive team.
Essential Requirements
8. CORU registration (or eligibility for registration) as a Speech and Language Therapist.
9. Minimum of 3 years post-qualification clinical experience, with a significant portion working with children and/or young people with disabilities.
10. Demonstrated expertise in paediatric Speech and Language Therapy, including assessment and intervention for feeding, eating, drinking, and swallowing (FEDS).
11. Proven ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
12. Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
13. A full, clean driving licence and access to own transport.
