Cell Leader - County Westmeath.
This is a permanent and full-time position, and encompasses shift work (including night shifts).
Principal Accountabilities:
Manage a Team within the Production department.
Ensure that the product is to the agreed quality standard and manufactured on time in full to the production schedule
Adherence to the Production plan and achieving the Lean Sheet targets in output and quality
Adherence to and monitoring of daily scrap levels / rework targets and assist in developing and implementing plans to eliminate scrap.
Responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving
Responsible for all departmental reporting, verbal and written, as directed by the production management
Responsible for cell improvement initiatives including 6S.
Ensure First Off Records are completed fully and signed off by Production Team Leader. Save First Off completed Records on soft copy.
Ensure all parts are identified as required and GRN No. is shown on Travel Cards.
Ensure all non-conforming parts are dealt with as per Reaction Routine for Defective Products
Responsible for the Quality output within your department
Responsible for the labour efficiency within your department
Lead and promote continuous improvement
Ensuring training matrix is maintained/up to date
Shift handover is a critical process that relies on effective communication in order to reduce the risk of safety incidents. This handover should be detailed, e.g. Quality Issues, downtime etc.
Be the first point of contact for operators on any HR related queries/ issues and seek to resolve issues to avoid the need for further escalation
Manage time and attendance and performance of all employees, and ensure adequate records are kept of any discussions in relation to these issues
Ensure operators are updated of any changes to HR policies and procedures
Schedule and conduct weekly team meetings with operators to ensure open communication, where necessary seek assistance from management / HR on HR related matters
Ensure area is manned / cover provided at all times
Lead and co-ordinate the day-to-day activities of the Team
Train operatives in the operation of machines, ensuring Work Instructions are available at place of work, are understood and followed by operatives.
Ensure that performance and time and attendance of operatives is adequately monitored and managed in line with company policies and procedures
Ensure that all Health & Safety regulations are adhered to by all employees
Ensure that all employees are wearing their PPE at all times
Complete Return to Work Form with all employees after absence to ensure fit for work.
Ensure the Cell and equipment is compliant for safe operation by the employees.
Promote Good Health and Safety Practices.
Ensure all Health and Safety issue raised are followed up and closed off.
Development and protection of intellectual property and know how.
Skills and Experience required:
Strong people management skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Computer skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.
Results orientated.
Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
Ability to work well under pressure and manage deadlines
