Registered General Nurse – Urodynamics (Out‑Patient Clinic)

Purpose of the Role
The Registered General Nurse in Urodynamics delivers high‑quality, patient‑centred care to individuals undergoing urodynamic procedures and ensures safe delivery of care to patients with urology conditions. The Nurse is accountable for competent, compassionate, and efficient care, engaging the highest standard at all times for Urology procedures to inpatients and outpatients.
Qualifications
* Be registered, or be eligible for registration, in the General Nurse Division of the Register of Nurses kept by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
* Completed Catheterisation course.
Experience
* At least 1–2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role, with a particular focus on acute care nursing.
* Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in Urology or Urodynamics. Please indicate clearly your experience on your CV.
* Proven experience with Catheterisation.
* Experience with an Electronic Health Record (Desirable).
Key Responsibilities
* Safely pre‑ and post‑procedure care for patients within the Urology Out‑Patient Clinic.
* Promote a patient‑focused approach to care in collaboration with all relevant health agencies.
* Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring they are fully informed about their treatment and addressing any concerns they may have.
* Demonstrate safe and effective infection control practices.
* Liaise with CNSs/Consultants regarding any clinical complications/concerns.
* Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes and experience.
* Accountable for own clinical practice, maintaining and improving professional knowledge, competence and scope of practice in accordance with NMBI.
* Maintain awareness of national, professional and local quality issues relevant to delivery of nursing services, for example, JCI and HIQA.
