We are seeking a committed and proactive individual to support the work of the Library in the critical area of archival collections.
This role offers an opportunity for an experienced archivist to work with a recent archival donation of significant Irish research interest.
The primary purpose of the post is to appraise, arrange and catalogue this archival collection in accordance with recognised international archival standards and professional best practice.
Based in Special Collections and Archives and reporting to the Special Collections Manager, the archivist will be responsible for the processing of the collection to facilitate its long-term preservation and access for research.
The post holder will be expected to work with a high degree of independence and will have the professional skills and knowledge required to plan, manage and document their work to ensure project deadlines are met.
The role requires excellent communication and organisational skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues and stakeholders, and to maintain clear, consistent and accurate records of all archival processing and related activities.
