We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Production Supervisor to join our team in the food production industry.
This role involves overseeing day-to-day operations in the production area, ensuring the team is working efficiently, maintaining high-quality standards, and adhering to food safety guidelines.
The ideal candidate will have experience in food production, a strong ability to manage staff and schedules, and be proficient in BRC (British Retail Consortium) standards.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and manage production staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during all shifts.
Ensure production targets and deadlines are met while maintaining quality standards.
Monitor and enforce compliance with BRC Global Food Safety Standards, ensuring all food safety and hygiene protocols are followed.
Conduct regular training for staff on food safety procedures, equipment use, and company policies.
Handle any staff-related issues, including performance management, conflict resolution, and ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
Conduct regular inspections of the production area to ensure all equipment and facilities are functioning properly.
Maintain accurate production records, including staff attendance, production quantities, and quality checks.
Coordinate with other departments (e.g., quality control, logistics) to ensure timely and accurate production flows.
Participate in audits and inspections to ensure BRC certification and standards are maintained.
Prepare reports for management regarding production performance, staff performance, and any issues encountered.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a production supervisor or in a similar leadership role within the food industry.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and BRC standards.
Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to effectively manage staff schedules and production timelines.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle operational challenges effectively.
Basic knowledge of production equipment and troubleshooting.
