Job Summary: The Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer will support the design, development, and delivery of mechanical systems, components, and solutions across a range of projects.
This role is ideal for a recent engineering graduate who is eager to apply technical knowledge, develop design skills, and gain handson experience in a fastpaced engineering environment.
Working alongside senior engineers and crossfunctional teams, the successful candidate will contribute to concept development, detailed design, modelling, testing, and continuous improvement activities.
Duties and Responsibilities: Mechanical Design Modelling Assist in the creation of 2D and 3D mechanical designs using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor).
Support the development of detailed drawings, assemblies, and BOMs.
Contribute to design calculations, simulations, and performance analysis.
Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback into updated models.
Project Support Work with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to support product development.
Assist in testing and validation activities.
Help prepare technical documentation, reports, and design specifications.
Support troubleshooting and rootcause analysis during development or production.
Standards Compliance Ensure designs comply with all company standards and guideline including ISO standards, EN****, ASME and other relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
Follow internal design processes, quality procedures, and engineering best practices.
Maintain accurate and organised design records.
Continuous Improvement Contribute ideas to improve product performance, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.
Support the development of new tools, templates, and design methodologies.
Stay informed about emerging technologies and mechanical engineering trends.
Requirements and Qualifications The ideal candidate will have an honours degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience using 3D CAD applications e.g. SolidWorks, Creo (Pro/E), Inventor, Revit.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
