In the role, the successful candidate will:Ownership for assigned incidents, requests and other ticket types associated with the Linux hosting environmentTroubleshoot issues with ICT services in conjunction with Information Systems colleaguesEnsure all systems & servers are functioning & communicating properly. Systems include:RHEL OS (version 8, upgrade to 10 planned)Automation: Ansible Automation Platform, Automation Hub, Bash scriptingVersion Control: Git (Bitbucket), SVNAtlassian: Jira, ConfluenceLiaise with 3rd party vendorsEnsure the Red Hat environment is patched and up to date with all security and feature patchesEnsure Dev Ops policies, standards & procedures are developed, implemented and adhered toEnsure relevant documentation is regularly updated & maintainedConduct regular disaster recovery testing ensuring backup plans & documentation are up to dateRequirementsWe are looking for somebody who has the following background and skills:A strong understanding of best practices in terms of policies, standards and controls appropriate to a large financial services organizationBackground working in financial institutions preferableMust have 5 years’ experience in relevant rolePossess an advanced understanding of Linux concepts and technologiesExperienced at organizing, prioritising & multitaskingExperience in working with 3rd party vendorsExperience with:RHEL OS (version 8, upgrade to 10 planned)Ansible Automation Platform and Automation HubVersion Control: Git (Bitbucket), SVNAtlassian: Jira, ConfluenceCI\CD: Jenkins, SonarQube, SonatypeThe candidate must demonstrate:A good aptitude for relevant technologiesExceptional critical thinking & problem-solving abilityKnowledge of best practices regarding management, control & monitoring of the Linux EnvironmentAbility to work independently under minimal supervisionKnowledge of computing infrastructuresGood interpersonal & communication skills to provide support in a professional mannerAbility to work on own initiative & demonstrate proactive ownership of tasks and issues with a defined SLASelf-motivated with good judgement, organisational and time management skillsAn ability to follow established processes & procedures and define new ones when appropriateGood team working capabilityDedicated and flexible work attitudeImportantMust have a valid Stamp 4, Irish or EU passport and be based in Ireland
