Pharmacy Technician | Crosshaven Pharmacy
We are currently seeking to recruit a Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Phelans Pharmacy, Crosshaven.
As a Pharmacy Technician or Dispenser, you will undertake a wide range of duties within the pharmacy under the supervision of a pharmacist. This role is best suited to a positive, motivated, and focused individual who enjoys learning and supporting people with a variety of health needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting the pharmacist by accurately receiving, recording, and assembling prescriptions, and issuing the appropriate receipts.
* Providing professional and empathetic advice to customers on medicines and over-the-counter products, referring queries to the pharmacist where appropriate.
* Maintaining accurate records and ensuring documentation related to pharmacy schemes is kept up to date and compliant with pharmacy procedures.
* Managing stock control, including anticipating shortages, communicating with the team, placing orders with wholesalers, checking deliveries, rotating stock, and removing out-of-date medicines.
* Ensuring that any errors or safety concerns are promptly brought to the attention of the Supervising Pharmacist.
* Maintaining consistently high professional standards at all times, in line with standard Operating Procedures and as directed by the Supervising Pharmacist.
* Supporting the wider pharmacy team across all areas of the pharmacy operation, including OTC sales and front-of-counter duties.
* Building and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues, customers, and other healthcare professionals.
* Participating in training and development programmes as required.
Requirements
* Completion of the IPU Pharmacy Technician course or equivalent, or several years' experience working in a dispensary.
* Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively and build effective relationships within a team.
* Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
* A positive and professional attitude, with a clear understanding of the importance of excellent customer service and confidentiality.
* Comfortable using computerised systems, with knowledge of the MPS dispensing system an advantage.
