This post is a fantastic opportunity to work on Bluebell Ward. We are an 12 bedded unit based in Chesterfield for older people with functional mental health diagnosis.
The post is a permanent post for a qualified Band 4 Nursing Associate who will be supported by both the clinical lead and manager of the team and will receive regular supervision and support within you role, including appraisals.
You will be working as part of a friendly team of nurses, medics, nursing assistants, occupational therapists and physios. Additionally, the post holder will also sometimes act as the third qualified staff member on a shift.
Main duties of the job
You will be committed to developing and maintaining good working relationships with all members of our team.
You will be expected to engage in the audit process for the trust and be able to have good IT skills to record appropriate records in a timely manner.
Motivated to maintaining high standards in a changing service
To perform blood tests, basic observations, administer medication, carry out bladder scans, ECG's and other tasks as required.
Ability to assess capacity to consent and take appropriate action where required.
To maintain high levels of infection control.

Qualifications
* Nursing Associate Foundation Degree
* Registered with the NMC
* Experience in mental health
Experience
* Have experience of working (either paid or voluntary) on a one-to-one basis with health & social care service receivers
* Evidence of team working
* Have experience of liaising with a range of health & social care service
* Previous experience of working with adults/ older adults with mental health needs
* Previous experience of physical health assessment, monitoring and interventions
* Previous experience working on Health Promotion Initiatives
Skills/Other
* Ability to carry out blood pressure, capillary blood collection, ECG recording, smoking screening, alcohol screening, lifestyle screening and advice and other health promotion
