Title: Teaching Assistant in Spanish
Job Synopsis
The School of Modern Languages and Applied Linguistics (MLAL) at the University of Limerick invites applications for a specific‑purpose appointment as Teaching Assistant in Spanish. The role involves delivering teaching across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes that integrate language development with contemporary cultural, social, and political contexts. The post holder will contribute to the delivery of core and elective modules in Spanish (including translation and interpreting) and modules in Translation Studies.
Responsibilities
Deliver core and elective Spanish modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.Assist in teaching modules in Translation Studies, translation, and interpreting.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language or a closely related discipline.Minimum of three years’ experience teaching Spanish at the higher education level.Background in translation and/or translation studies is an advantage.
Contract Details
Specific Purpose Contract – approximate end date 15 January 2027.Contract duration is limited to 10 months; may be renewed for one further period not exceeding 10 months.Applications are only considered from individuals who have not already received two Teaching Assistant contracts.
Salary
€39,279 per annum, pro rata.
