Leadership Opportunity in Trauma-Informed Care

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Social Care professional to deliver holistic, trauma-informed care to young people aged 13-17.

Our team provides a therapeutic environment for children and young people through positive attachments built through relationship building. We encourage engagement with the young people and build rapport to support developing relationships.

You will work closely with a team of Social Care professionals to deliver comprehensive, trauma-informed care to the young people. Your responsibilities include working directly with children, household management, administration, health and safety, and professional development.


* Contribute to the development and implementation of Care and Placement Plans.
* Promote the rights and responsibilities of each child/young person within the centre.
* Support attendance at school, training centres, medical and clinical appointments.
* Organise personal documents, arrangements, information, and finance on behalf of the young person.
* Liaise with parents, family, general services, and other agencies on behalf of the young person.
* Attend meetings related to the care and developments of the young person.
* Engage in age-appropriate play and other activities with each child/young person within the centre.
* Prepare well-balanced meals with the young people.
* Undertake home management tasks, including the household budget, upkeep, and cleaning.
* Attend team meetings and report to the Social Care Manager on matters affecting service delivery.
* Be accountable for money spent.
* Make regular reports to the Social Care Manager on the progress of development of the young person.
* Undertake ongoing professional training and development.
* Take decisions when on shift and make overall responsibility for the residential centre.


* Have at least three years' experience in a Children & Families Service or similar environment.
* Be registered in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by CORU or hold a CORU-approved qualification.
