The Irish Prison Service is seeking a qualified Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join its team in Castlerea Prison.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work with individuals who have been referred to the IPS Psychology Service due to mental health difficulties and offence-related needs.

As a Staff Grade (Grade II) Psychologist, you will be part of a broad multi-disciplinary team working to assess and intervene with clients presenting with a range of complex issues.

Your key responsibilities will include:

* Providing thorough, individualised evidence-based assessments and interventions for clients with mental health difficulties and offence-related needs;
">
* Supporting the Senior Psychologist and multi-disciplinary team in developing and implementing effective care plans;
">
* Working collaboratively with community agencies involved in the support and resettlement of individuals leaving custody;
">
* Contributing to research initiatives and providing input to training programmes.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* A postgraduate professional qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland;
">
* Eligibility for graduate membership of the PSI or BPS;
">
* Experience working with forensic or inpatient populations, preferably in a clinical or counselling capacity;
">
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
