Réalta Technologies are looking for a Senior Automation Engineer with strong Allen-Bradley PLC experience to join our Projects Team based at our office in Ballincollig, Cork to support on client projects.
Job ResponsibilitiesLead and support automation activities for client capital and process improvement projects across manufacturing operations.Design, develop, program, test and commission automation systems, with a strong focus on Allen-Bradley PLC platforms.Develop and maintain PLC, HMI, and SCADA code to support new equipment installations, process upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, Engineering, and Operations.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior automation and controls engineers.Support equipment FATs, SATs, commissioning and ramp-up activities.Ensure automation solutions comply with Medical Device regulatory requirements (e.g. FDA, ISO 13485, GMP).Participate in risk assessments, change control, and validation activities for automated systems.
Job RequirementsBachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.6–7 years' experience in an automation or controls engineering role within a manufacturing environment.Strong experience with Allen-Bradley PLCsProven experience in process automation, including integration of sensors, actuators, drives and industrial networks.Strong programming and coding skills, with the ability to develop structured, maintainable control code.Experience working in a Medical Device or other highly regulated industry is strongly preferred.Solid understanding of GMP, validation lifecycle (IQ/OQ/PQ), and regulatory compliance for automated systems.Experience with HMI/SCADA development and industrial communication protocols.Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional project teams.
