With over a century of construction expertise behind you, this is a fantastic opportunity to deepen your specialisation in construction safety across a wide portfolio of public and private sector projects.Responsibilities for Health & Safety OfficerPromote and maintain a strong safety-first culture across live construction sites
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, company policy, and best practice guidelines
Support the SHEQ Manager in evaluating training needs and staff safety development
Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and update the Safety Statement as required
Assist with company safety audits and participate in relevant meetings
Monitor on-site activities to identify risks, implement preventive measures, and champion safe work practices
Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal policies and proceduresRequirements for Health & Safety Officer
Degree-qualified in Health & Safety or related discipline
Minimum 5 years' construction site experience
Proven track record maintaining accident-free environments
Knowledge of ISO standards including 9001, 14001, 18001, and Safe-T-Cert is highly desirable
Familiarity with current legislation and the ability to keep procedures aligned with updates and best practice
Previous experience preparing safety documentation for tender and pre-qualification processes is a plus
Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative, can-do attitude
Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to influence at all levels
Proficiency across Microsoft Office, project software, and other relevant tools
