About the Job:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Cook/Kitchen Assistant to join our dedicated catering team.
Kitchen Responsibilities:
* Prepare, cook, present, and serve a range of meals for society members
* Provide guidance and support to kitchen assistants
* Assist the Catering Manager with daily kitchen operations
* Maintain high standards of food hygiene and health & safety
* Follow HACCP guidelines and complete required records
* Control portion sizes to stay within operational parameters
* Clean kitchen surfaces, equipment, and floors according to daily and deep cleaning schedules
* Manage washing up and laundry tasks as needed
* Rotate and clean stock in cold rooms, freezers, and storage areas
* Help place orders when required
Dining Room Duties:
* Clear and reset tables after meals, replacing tablecloths as necessary
* Loading and unloading the dishwasher; drying and storing utensils and dishes
* Sweeping, mopping, and maintaining cleanliness in serving and wash-up areas
* Ensuring hygiene standards are upheld at all times
* Emptying and disinfecting swill bins and managing waste disposal properly
Key Competencies:
* Proven experience as a cook, ideally in a similar environment
* Strong understanding of HACCP and food safety practices
* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
* Attention to detail and a solid knowledge of food preparation
* A flair and passion for cooking good, wholesome food
What We Offer:
€17–€18 per hour, depending on experience
