Overview of role:
UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic is currently recruiting for a full or part-time Occupational Health Clinical Nurse Manager.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
* Implement and promote the Occupational Health Model of Care, focusing on preventing staff illness and injury, and providing timely care for workplace injuries or illnesses.
* Promote health and wellbeing in the workplace.
* Manage occupational hazards through risk assessments.
* Support staff in remaining in the workforce post-illness or injury with interventions like accommodations and phased returns.
* Train staff and managers on health and wellbeing matters.
Purpose of Post: To lead workplace health services, including health promotion and service planning, managing activities and resources within OHS.
Organisational/Advisory:
* Conduct workplace visits to identify hazards.
* Investigate work-related illnesses and report findings.
* Participate in health surveys and committees.
* Provide ongoing occupational health care and work with occupational medicine physicians to set standards.
* Maintain confidentiality and proper record-keeping.
The Occupational Health Nurse Advisor will:
* Develop health & safety procedures and emergency protocols.
* Monitor staff wellbeing and ensure policy adherence.
* Manage incident reports and maintain safety equipment.
General duties include:
* Develop relationships with staff and promote the role of OHS.
* Maintain communication with health and safety professionals.
* Adhere to professional standards and undertake other duties as assigned.
Manage prevention strategies for occupational exposures and immunization programmes, and conduct audits and reporting.

Qualifications & Experience:
* Registered nurse with NMBI, with at least 5 years post-registration experience.
* Minimum 2 years in a management role, preferably in occupational health.
* Occupational health qualification preferred or in progress.
Professional Knowledge:
* Experience in case management, health promotion, infection control, manual handling, and stress management in healthcare settings.
