Job Description

This position provides maternity leave cover in the area of practice of pharmacy within the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The role involves supporting the 5‑year Integrated Pharmacy Programme, strengthening the School’s teaching and research in pharmacy practice, and participating in the development and management of practice placements as part of the Integrated Pharmacy Programme. The position also supports activities of APPEL (Affiliation for Pharmacy Practice Experiential Learning), a joint initiative of Trinity, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and University College Cork (UCC) to coordinate workplace‑based learning and assessment.
Responsibilities

Support the 5‑year Integrated Pharmacy Programme and its practice‑placement components.
Develop and manage practice placements for pharmacy students.
Contribute to teaching and undertake research in pharmacy practice and pedagogic research.
Strengthen the School’s existing teaching and research in the pharmacy practice area.

Qualifications

Pharmacy degree and relevant professional experience.
Strong interest in engaging with the profession and developing practice placements.
Demonstrated teaching experience and a commitment to pedagogic research.
Strong academic profile and research plan.

Contract & Pay
Post status: Specific Purpose Contract (temporary, pending return from maternity leave).
Hours of work: As prescribed under Public Service Agreements.
Salary: Assistant Professor Salary Scale (€42,500 – €101,541 per annum) in line with current Government pay policy.
