Purpose of Role:
Split post between CHI & The Coombe. The successful candidate will work with other CHI consultant microbiologists to provide 24/7 on-call microbiology services at Temple Street, Crumlin initially, then at the new hospital and The Coombe Hospital. On-call frequency will align with sessional commitments.
On-call microbiology services will be provided to The Coombe on a 1 in 2/1 in 3 basis.
There are 2 available positions:
* 18.5 hrs CHI; 18.5 hrs The Coombe Hospital
* 26 hrs CHI; 11 hrs The Coombe Hospital
Essential Criteria:
Mandatory Skills, Competencies, and Knowledge:
* Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Medical Practitioners Register maintained by the Medical Council of Ireland in Clinical Microbiology.
* FRCPath in Clinical Microbiology or equivalent.
The successful interviewee must register as a specialist within 180 days of the interview and maintain registration throughout their tenure. Evidence of registration must be provided annually.
Additional Skills / Competencies / Knowledge:
* Extensive experience in clinical Microbiology practice, including consultation and laboratory work.
* Leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and team management skills.
* Knowledge of Irish health sector policies and health reform.
* Proficiency in data systems and resource management.
