A well‑established and growing organisation within the insurance sector is seeking a Financial Reporting & Accounting professional to join its finance team. The business operates in a regulated environment and offers exposure to financial reporting, controls, and regulatory processes within a collaborative and professional setting.
Your new role
You will be responsible for supporting the financial reporting and accounting function, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with reporting standards. Key responsibilities will include preparing monthly management accounts, maintaining the general ledger, and supporting month‑end and year‑end close processes.
Duties will include:
Financial Reporting & Accounting
Preparation of monthly management accounts including profit and loss, balance sheet, and variance analysis
Maintenance of general ledger accounting and accuracy of financial transactions
Completion of month‑end and year‑end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries
Preparation of financial statements in line with IFRS and local GAAP requirements
Monthly payroll processing responsibilities
Reconciliation & Controls
Balance sheet reconciliations including cash, technical accounts, and reinsurance balances
Maintaining strong internal financial controls and documenting processes
Investigation and resolution of discrepancies across underwriting and claims data
Cash & Treasury Support
Supporting insurance trust accounts and client money accounts
Reconciliation of cash receipts and payments relating to premiums, commissions, and claims
Regulatory & Compliance
Supporting regulatory reporting requirements where applicable
Assisting with external audits and internal reviews
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience in financial reporting, accounting, or finance operations
Strong reconciliation and financial controls experience
Knowledge of IFRS or local GAAP reporting standards
Experience working within insurance or a regulated financial services environment is advantageous
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a structured environment
