We are recruiting an Actuarial Trainee (part qualified) to join our AXA Ireland Risk Team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a team that provides actuarial support to AXA Ireland across Capital and wider Risk function activities to ensure profitability and financial soundness.
At AXA, we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team, and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients, or attending industry events.
Role Responsibilities
* Assist with the running of the capital calculation processes for the Internal Model of AXA Insurance dac, primarily using ReMetrica.
* Participate in regular data and reporting work, as well as project work.
* Assist in independent reserve reviews to challenge reserve level recommendations proposed by the Head of Actuarial Function, considering business trends, external market considerations, regulatory and accounting standards, and internal risk appetite.
* Coordinate, organize, and maintain business processes requiring capital and reserving input, including Strategic Planning, Regulatory reporting, Reinsurance, ORSA, Economic performance targets, and stress & scenario testing.
Your Profile
* Actively studying for actuarial exams with a relevant degree in Actuarial, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related fields.
* Previous exposure to actuarial work is preferred.
* Proficient in R, Python, SQL, or SAS for data manipulation and processing.
* Strong work ethic with the ability to balance work demands and study commitments.
* Excellent communication skills, able to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend and implement improvements.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
* Responsible and accountable for own work, with the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
