Overview
As Director of Flight Operations you will be responsible for the efficient running of the Flight Operations department. This is a key position in the airline, allowing the company to develop and grow quickly through the safe and efficient running of flight operations.
Responsibilities
* Reporting directly to the Accountable manager, ensure the safety, security and efficient overall operation of all Company ATR 72-600 Aircraft.
* Ensure compliance within the Flight Operations Department with Company policy and legal requirements and to ensure compliance in accordance with IAA, EASA and ICAO procedures and regulations.
* Develop and maintain procedures to ensure the smooth operation of all company aircraft.
* Manage Company Flight and Cabin crew with reference to company HR procedures.
* Participate in the selection and recruitment of all flight crew.
* Designation of Aircraft Commanders and Training personnel in consultation with the Head of Training.
* Produce and maintain the Company's Operations Manuals.
* Develop and check line standards across the fleet.
* Oversee the overall supervision of flight and route planning.
* Brief and issue as required all general and specific weather minima.
* Oversee the maintenance of all required operational and training records, ensuring all crews are properly licensed and authorised.
* Liaise with the Irish Aviation Authority, and the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport as necessary, to ensure operations are in accordance with the authorisation issued.
* Liaise with original equipment manufacturers and other external organisations relevant to flight operations to ensure safe and efficient operation of company aircraft.
* Review and evaluate programmes for fleet/equipment standardisation and new aircraft acquisition.
Required Qualifications and Experience
* Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
* Comprehensive knowledge of:
* The applicable EU safety regulations and any associated requirements and procedures.
* Familiarity with management systems preferably in the area of aviation.
* Appropriate management experience, preferably in a comparable organisation.
* 5 years of relevant work experience of which at least 2 years should be from the aeronautical industry in an appropriate position.
