Poultry Farm OperativeLocation:County LaoisSalary:€36,000Job Type:Full-Time, PermanentAbout the RoleWe are seeking a reliable and hard-working Poultry Farm Operative to join our farming team in County Laois. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day running of the poultry unit, ensuring high standards of bird welfare, biosecurity, hygiene, and farm performance. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in an agricultural environment and is committed to animal welfare.Key ResponsibilitiesDaily care and monitoring of birds, including checking bird health, behaviour, welfare, and environmental conditions.Maintain high standards of hygiene and biosecurity across the farm.Carry out routine tasks such as feeding, bedding, egg collection (if applicable), and ventilation checks.Monitor flock performance and report issues promptly to the Farm Manager.Maintain accurate records of bird numbers, mortality, feed usage, and daily checks.Operate farm machinery and equipment safely.Assist with vaccination, weighing, thinning, and catching activities.General maintenance and cleaning duties around the farm and poultry houses.Follow all health & safety requirements and company policies.RequirementsPrevious experience in poultry, livestock, farming, or agriculture preferred but not essential—full training can be provided.Strong interest in animal welfare and farm work.Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.Physically fit and comfortable working in a fast-paced, manual environment.Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and rota-based hours.Full driving licence required due to location.What We Offer€36,000 annual salaryFull training and developmentSupportive team environmentLong-term career progression within agriculture/farming operations
