Job Specification: Finance Operations Manager (EU Region)Location:UK or Ireland (with EU remit)Reporting to:Head of Finance Operations EMEAContract Type:Permanent, Full-TimeSalary:Competitive, based on experienceStart Date:FlexibleApply:LinkedIn or Role SummaryRubicon Technical Services Europe is seeking a skilled and proactive Finance Operations Manager to oversee financial operations across the UK, Ireland, and selected EU entities. This role is pivotal in ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and strategic support across payroll, benefits, tax, banking, and vendor management. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to uphold best practices and drive operational excellence.Key Responsibilities:Payroll & CompensationReview and approve payroll for the UK and Ireland, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal processesValidate payroll data prepared for Sweden, Spain, and Italy prior to submission to external payroll providersOversee timely and compliant payroll processing across all regions, in line with local legislationBenefits AdministrationManage health, pension, and income protection schemesLiaise with HR to ensure benefits are compliant, competitive, and aligned with employee needsSupport benefit renewals and employee queriesTax Compliance & ReconciliationReconcile tax liabilities in relevant jurisdictions (e.g. Sweden)Research and advise on international tax implications affecting employeesDevelop and maintain processes to manage cross-border tax complianceBanking & Financial TransactionsMaintain secure access to online banking platformsApprove payments, credit card top-ups, and other financial transactions as requiredEnsure adherence to internal controls and authorisation protocolsExpense ManagementApply country-specific rates for mileage, per diem, accommodation, car hire, and travelResearch entitlements and tax limits applicable to employee expensesEnsure expense policies are up-to-date and clearly communicatedPolicy & Regulatory UpdatesAdvise on and update internal finance-related policiesMonitor and report relevant legislative changes to senior managementEnsure compliance with government regulations across all jurisdictionsStakeholder EngagementAct as a point of contact for auditors, banks, legal advisors, and government agenciesMaintain professional relationships and ensure timely responses to external requestsProject & Vendor SupportReview financial aspects of project proposals and suggest improvementsSupport vendor negotiations and onboardingMaintain records of vendor agreements and assist with renewalsProject ManagementT rack costs, revenues, and resources specific to each projectMonitor budget vs. actuals throughout the project lifecycleGenerate project-specific reports to assess profitability and performanceQualifications & Person Specification:Essential Qualifications & ExperienceACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional accounting qualification (full membership preferred)Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related fieldMinimum 5 years' experience in a finance role, ideally with an international scopeFamiliarity with recognised bodies such as IPASS (Ireland) or The Payroll Centre (UK)Proficiency in financial software and online banking platformsStrong understanding of payroll, tax, and benefits across UK and EU jurisdictionsExcellent attention to detail and organisational skillsStrong communication and stakeholder engagement abilitiesAbility to work independently and manage competing prioritiesDiscretion and professionalism when handling sensitive financial dataDesirable AttributesExperience managing multi-jurisdictional payroll and tax complianceFamiliarity with EU labour laws and employee benefit regulationsExperience in vendor management and contract negotiationExposure to project finance and business case reviewCollaborative experience with HR teams on policy and benefitsFamiliar with Oracle and NetSuite ERP platforms
