About the Role
EHS International is recruiting a Senior Accountant to take a leading role within the finance team. The successful candidate will oversee financial reporting, compliance and performance management across the organisation. This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced professional who can manage workloads, enhance processes and support strategic decision making.
The ideal candidate would be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and managing the day-to-day finance operations of the business. This includes processing supplier and customer transactions, managing payroll, preparing VAT and Revenue returns, and ensuring all accounts are fully reconciled. The role supports the Managing Director and the Operations Director by providing up-to-date financial information, assisting with management reporting, and maintaining compliance with statutory requirements. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and hands-on experience using Xero or similar accounting software in a busy service provider environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning
• Oversee statutory reporting including VAT and payroll
• Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls
• Lead audit processes and liaise with external auditors
• Provide financial insights and analysis to senior management
• Supervise junior finance team members and support their development
• Drive process improvements and system efficiencies
• Work closely with leadership across the organisation on financial planning
Requirements
• Minimum 5 years' relevant accounting experience
• Fully qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent
• Strong technical knowledge across Irish accounting standards, tax and compliance
• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting and cash flow management
• Proficient user of Xero and advanced user of MS Excel
• Experience with BrightPay payroll an advantage
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management ability
• Ability to work independently and lead within a busy office environment
