Job Description
A Mechanical Piping Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of industrial systems.
This position involves overseeing the engineering and coordination of mechanical piping systems on designated construction projects, working closely with project teams to oversee design integration, installation, testing, and commissioning.
The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and managing piping-related design documentation, attending project handover meetings, and identifying opportunities for cost savings or value engineering within the piping scope.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Review and manage all piping-related design documentation and drawings
2. Attend project handover and design coordination meetings
3. Identify value engineering or cost-saving opportunities within piping scope
4. Produce and review coordinated piping layout drawings, including isometrics and spool drawings
5. Ensure technical compliance of piping installations through thorough review of specifications and drawings
6. Prepare and assess piping-related technical submittals and RFIs
7. Support procurement through requisitions and PO generation for piping materials and equipment
8. Track and verify delivery and receipt of piping components on site
9. Oversee pipe fit-up, welding, and installation in line with codes and client requirements
10. Walk down piping systems against P&IDs and ensure full system traceability
11. Populate and manage test packs for pressure testing and flushing
12. Liaise with QA/QC to close punch lists and ensure quality compliance
13. Ensure all piping works comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations
14. Prepare method statements and risk assessments specific to piping activities
15. Supervise and coordinate piping subcontractors on-site
16. Contribute to weekly progress reporting and attend project review meetings
17. Assist in commissioning and handover documentation of piping systems
