Position Summary
In this role, you will design and develop solutions for Orthopaedic and Trauma applications, while leading technical execution across cross‑functional teams through the new product development process. You will also provide oversight on adjacent project efforts and take ownership of technical aspects across the broader program pipeline.
What You Will Do
Develop innovative solutions for Trauma applications
Create and review technical product specifications to ensure they meet design and compliance requirements
Work with cross‑functional teams to move products from concept through market release
Track and manage your own work to ensure high‑quality results are delivered on time
Key Responsibilities
Understand customer needs and develop effective design solutions, including CAD modelling, prototyping, technical drawings, testing, and documentation
Work directly with surgeons to understand needs, communicate design intent, and incorporate feedback
Analyse problems and develop practical, well‑rounded engineering solutions
Ensure designs meet applicable regulatory and quality requirements in collaboration with other engineering teams
Apply innovative and state‑of‑the‑art technologies where appropriate
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support project planning, manage your own timelines, and clearly communicate progress to project management
What You Will Need
A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, science, or a related field is required. A master's degree is preferred.
A minimum of 2 years of product development experience in the medical device industry or an equivalent regulated industry is required.
Experience using a parametric CAD design package (Pro/Engineer preferred)
Working knowledge of FEA
Proven ability to own complex product development activities from concept through market release
Experience applying design controls in a regulated environment
Ability to meet objectives independently and effectively contribute as a team member or technical leader

Proficiency in industry‑standard software relevant to water network design (e.g., hydraulic modelling packages, CAD).
