Full job description
One Arena is a high-performance, community-driven small group training gym with two thriving locations in Cork: Pouladuff Road and Passage West, with our third location opening soon. We specialise in structured, coach-led group training, focused on strength and conditioning, delivered with energy, purpose, and care.
At our core, One Arena is a community-first facility. Our training model is designed to be results-focused but welcoming, with a strong emphasis on coaching quality and individual progress. We’ve built a reputation for providing exceptional training experiences in a fun, supportive atmosphere. Candidates who have experience working in or training at a small group personal training (SGPT) facility will be at an advantage, as they’ll understand the environment, expectations, and standards we aim to uphold.
The Role:
We are hiring a Head of Strength & Conditioning to lead the design, programming, and delivery of our group training model across both studios. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week role, including 23-27 hours of coaching, with the remaining hours allocated to programming, session development, off-floor member coaching, check-ins, team mentoring, and leadership input.
You will take ownership of all programming and in-house CPD, ensuring sessions are progressive, inclusive, and consistent across all facilities. You will also mentor and support the coaching team to maintain high standards of delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver 23-27 hours of coaching per week across small group strength and conditioning sessions.
* Design and manage all programming and CPD across all studios.
* Lead team discussions on programming strategy and support coach development.
* Ensure all sessions are scalable, progressive, and align with One Arena's training philosophy.
* Work closely with the coaching team and leadership to continually improve the member experience.
* Member check in and nutrition coaching
* Support onboarding and engagement of new and existing members.
Requirements:
* A minimum of 3 years of experience coaching in a group, semi-private, or strength & conditioning setting.
* Demonstrated experience in designing structured, progressive training blocks.
* Strong group coaching presence with attention to technical detail and individual needs.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g. NSCA, UKSCA, Sport Science degree or equivalent).
* Availability to work Saturdays.
* Previous experience within an SGPT model (as a coach or member) is highly desirable.
What We Offer:
* A competitive salary of €35,250,000–€40,250, depending on experience and qualifications.
* A full-time role with a structured 40-hour work week.
* Free membership and in-house CPD support.
* A collaborative and dynamic team environment that prioritises high coaching standards and member care.
* The opportunity to lead programming across two fast-growing studios, with potential for long-term growth.
Start Date:
Ideally within 4–6 weeks, but flexible for the right candidate.
Please send your CV and a short cover letter explaining your relevant experience and why you believe you are the right fit for this role.
Applicants who include a cover letter will be prioritised over those who do not.
