Job Objectives
We are seeking Psychiatric Nurses for the role of Clinical Nurse Lead to join our team in our specialist inpatient Mental Health Service at Nua Healthcare.

* Comply with responsibilities under the Mental Health Act 2001 and Mental Health Amendment Act 2018, the Health and Safety at Work Act 2005, and all associated standards and regulations.
* Ensure ICPs are up to date and services are delivered to high quality and safety standards.
* Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
* Maintain infection control standards as directed by policy and national guidance.
* Work according to the NMBI Code of Professional Conduct; assess care needs and develop, implement, and evaluate programs of care; support the nursing team in this role; develop and evaluate individual care plans with patients, carers, and other professionals.
* Complete unit rosters and ensure appropriate skill mix in each unit.
Clinical Responsibilities
* Provide nursing assessment of patients admitted to the service.
* Lead the unit and support junior staff in clinical decision making.
* Ensure high standards of nursing in clinical procedures and treatments, including medicines custody, storage, and administration.
* Maintain high standard of nursing care during procedures through supervision and instruction.
* Ensure patients’ rights are maintained under the Mental Health Act.
* Lead and supervise staff to ensure awareness of individual care plans and objectives.
* Complete supervision and appraisals of junior staff.
* Take charge of the Centre in the absence of senior leadership.
* Lead planning for Mental Health Commission or external visits and inspections.
* Collaborate with outside agencies to ensure effective communication across services.

Qualifications and Experience
* Registered on, or eligible to be on, the Psychiatric Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
* A minimum of 3+ years post-qualification Psychiatric nursing experience.
Knowledge and Skills
* Knowledge of Health Act 2007, Mental Health Act 2001 and Mental Health Amendment Act 2018, Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, and related standards and regulations.
* Previous clinical management experience (desirable).
* Genuine respect and empathy for diversity and individuality.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to adapt to new environments.
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities; capable of working on own initiative.
* Ability to set high personal standards and deliver results.
