Job Overview
The Social Care Worker (SCW) will provide day‑to‑day personal care and support for the residents of Delta Centre, ensuring dignity, respect, choice, and protection from abuse for adults with intellectual disabilities.
Responsibilities
Provide daily care and support in line with person‑centred plans.
Ensure residents experience dignity, respect, and choice.
Assist residents in independence, communication, and personal development.
Establish trusting relationships through consistent care.
Adhere to Delta Centre policies, national HIQA and HSE standards, and safeguarding legislation.
Participate in regular reviews of care plans and protocols.
Support residents in setting aspirations and documenting current needs.
Encourage community involvement and independent initiatives.
Maintain accurate records and notify accidents as required.
Comply with health and safety, fire precautions, and equal opportunity principles.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree level 7 or 8 in Social Care / Social Studies or equivalent.
Experience in social care for adults with intellectual disabilities.
CORU registration required or application submitted.
Excellent communication and record‑keeping skills.
Proven ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.
Knowledge of national standards for adults with disabilities.
Motivated and adaptable, capable of 24/7 shift work.
Full clean driving licence preferred.
