Our client,
a public sector body, are seeking a Fire Engineer to join their team in the Midlands.
The purpose of the role is to provide risk management advice for the protection of staff, public, and patients in relation to Fire Safety while ensuring that the organisation’s need to comply with legal and statutory obligations in relation to Fire Health & Safety Prevention is met.

Responsibilities
* Fire Safety Inspections and Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of buildings, means of escape, and fire-fighting equipment, ensuring all equipment is well-maintained, clearly marked, and in good working order.
* Evacuation Planning and Staff Training: Develop and review evacuation plans, especially for individuals with specific needs, and train staff in fire prevention, emergency response, fire alarm operation, and evacuation procedures.
* Fire Drills and Water Supply Monitoring: Organize and oversee regular fire drills, monitor water supply for firefighting adequacy, ensure clear hydrant identification, and report any deficiencies.
* Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to fire protection standards, maintain records of inspections and drills, and submit regular reports on fire prevention services, including incident documentation and safety program performance.
* Risk Assessment and Training Coordination: Support risk assessments, advise on safety issues, and coordinate with training providers to meet ongoing professional development needs in fire safety and general health and safety.
Requirements
* Hold a HETAC level 7 qualification (NQF) in engineering, fire engineering, architecture, Health and Safety or Building Services/Building Survey.
* Minimum 2 years of experience in comparable role.
* Have a high degree of proficiency / expertise in Microsoft Office.
