Responsibilities
Perform regular inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning of the facility, including electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, lighting and other essential building components.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and carry out repairs as needed, fixing broken equipment, replacing faulty parts and resolving infrastructure issues.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, conducting routine safety checks and addressing any safety hazards promptly.
Maintain and service equipment such as power tools, machinery and other assets used in the maintenance process.
Assist with painting and decorating projects to maintain the aesthetic appearance of the property.
Conduct regular inspections and maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs and completed tasks.
Keep track of maintenance supplies, tools and equipment, ensuring they are adequately stocked and available when needed.
Be prepared to respond to emergency maintenance issues, such as leaks, floods, power outages or other urgent situations.
Work with other members of the maintenance team and interact with building occupants professionally and courteously.
Adhere to health and safety guidelines while performing maintenance tasks, using appropriate personal protective equipment and following established protocols.
Implement preventive maintenance programs to proactively identify and address potential issues before they become significant problems.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge and experience of plumbing systems, installations and repairs.
Good knowledge and experience of other maintenance disciplines such as tiling, carpentry, electrical, painting and general repair work.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending and working in various weather conditions.
Strong problem‑solving skills to identify and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
Effective communication skills to report maintenance tasks, interact with team members and provide updates to supervisors.
Understanding of health and safety regulations related to maintenance work.
Specific certifications or licenses, such as a driver's licence or trade‑specific qualifications.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially in emergency situations.
