Senior Talent Acquisition Partner EMEA | Recruitment, Communication. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Tax Team based in Johnson Controls headquarters in Cork, Ireland. The Tax Team based in Cork is part of the EMEA Tax Team with other members spread across locations in EMEA and reporting to the US-based Global Tax organization.
What You Will Do
As Tax Manager, you will be based in Cork and responsible for coordination of the corporate tax and statutory compliance activities in Ireland, UK and other jurisdictions, as part of the EMEA Legal Entity Stewardship (LES) team. The LES team owns the legal entity life cycle from US GAAP through statutory financial statements to direct tax return, and is responsible for managing the statutory financial statements preparation and audit (including tax controversy, projects and M&A activity). We work with external tax and accounting service providers who are responsible for preparation of the statutory financial statements, tax compliance preparation and statutory filings. We partner with the business and work with various internal and external stakeholders on tax projects and planning, acquisitions, and major international initiatives.
You’ll play a pivotal role as the key liaison between internal business teams, other practice areas within the Tax Department, and external tax advisors. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on a diverse range of complex international and local tax matters, providing broad exposure in strategic problem-solving and high-impact decision-making.
How Will You Do It
* Work with external statutory accounting and tax service providers to ensure accurate direct tax and statutory reporting in Ireland and the UK. Review material local statutory financial statements and corporate income tax returns. VAT and Transfer Pricing filings are handled by another practice area and are not part of this role.
* Work closely with the EMEA and US teams to ensure complete and accurate corporate tax reporting for US GAAP.
* Forecast corporate income tax expense and support on potential Pillar 2 impacts for Ireland, UK.
* Manage tax controversy and relationships with tax authorities.
* Work with EMEA and US planning teams as well as external advisors on special projects and planning initiatives.
* Collaborate with key business unit stakeholders to support the business in driving opportunities in tax and ensuring tax implications of business strategies are understood.
* Support the M&A team with tax due diligence on ad-hoc projects.
Required
What we look for
* Extensive experience in international corporate taxation
* Expertise in Irish and/or UK corporate taxation system
* Computer competency and expertise; familiarity with advanced Excel analysis; Oracle Fusion and HFM/OneStream experience an advantage
* Excellent verbal and written communication in English
* Self-starter with proactive focus on value-add activity, in an environment with changing priorities and time constraints
* Ability to build successful professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Hands-on mentality, team player, able to work flexibly
* Strong knowledge of direct taxation
* Hands-on experience in tax planning
Preferred
* Master\'s degree or equivalent with focus on tax and/or accounting; equivalent combination of education and experience considered
* Combination of Big 4 experience with in-house experience
* IFRS knowledge
* Knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles
