We are inviting applications for aFood Safety & Quality Co-Ordinator. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of Food Safety & Quality in the Retail Distribution Centres in Cork; the main duties of this role include, but are not limited to:
Implementation, and Management of Food Safety Management Systems in accordance with current legislation, and to prescribed standards (e.g.
FSSC 22000)
Ensuring the safety of all food product are not compromised during storage, assembly, and distributionCo-ordination with Regulatory Authorities and bodies (HSE, DAFM, NSAI, Organic Trust) / Legal compliance, including regulatory, 3 rd party and customer audits and inspections.
Leading out on audits and inspections.Monitor and Report on Supplier and overall product quality performance by co-ordinating fresh commodity product testing and inspections; co-ordinating independent & in-house benchmarking, product quality audits and assessments.
Planning and facilitating supplier visits and retailer visits and overviewing reportsManagement of the Technical Specialist TeamLeading the on-site HACCP teams.Conduct Audits of FSMS compliance, issuing reports and agreeing improvement plans.Management of satisfactory resolution of FSQ operational issues - management of Day to Day Food Safety queries at warehouse and resolve issues with the team on each site.Ensuring all Retailer FSQ queries are actioned and closed out in a timely mannerCo-ordinating product recalls and withdrawals; ensuring that communications to retailers and consumers are accurate and prompt.Maintaining external accreditationsReporting on FSQ performance against targets (KPI's)Work on required projects with the FSQ Team to improve and drive the FSQ initiatives within the business.Representing the FSQ Department across the business, to influence on Food Safety culture.The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications: Science/ Food Science Qualification EssentialTechnical Quality experience 5-10 years' experienceHACCP/Food Safety Management systems knowledgeExperience in implementing and managing QMS and a good working knowledge of a GFSI standard (e.g., BRC, FSSC 22000 or equivalent)Flexibility, quick learner, problem solver, good communication and good organisational skills.Full Driver's License and access to own car is requiredThis is a 12 month contract.
