Building SurveyorJob Description Summary Job Description We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS / MSCSI) to join our team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive professional to deliver high-quality surveying services across a broad portfolio of projects, including residential, commercial, and public sector schemes.
The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge, client-facing experience, and a commitment to delivering service excellence.
Key Responsibilities: · Undertake building surveys, condition reports, and dilapidation assessments.
· Deliver professional services including Party Wall matters, defect diagnosis, and technical due diligence.
· Lead refurbishment and maintenance projects from feasibility through to completion.
· Prepare and manage contract documentation including specifications, schedules of work, and tender packages.
· Act as Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent on a variety of construction projects.
· Provide expert advice on building pathology, compliance, and statutory obligations.
· Manage client relationships and project stakeholders effectively.
· Mentor and support graduate and APC-level surveyors within the team.
· Contribute to business development and fee proposals.
Essential Qualifications and Skills: · MRICS Chartered status (Building Surveying pathway).
· Degree in Building Surveying (RICS-accredited).
· Proven post-qualification experience in a consultancy or client-side role.
· Strong understanding of construction, building pathology, and property law.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills.
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and clients concurrently.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, NBS).
· Full UK driving licence (or equivalent).
· Experience working with JCT and NEC contracts.
· Party Wall and dilapidations expertise.
· Previous experience in team leadership or mentoring.
· Strong network within the property or construction sector.
· Interest in sustainable building practices and technologies.
