Role Location: Carrickmines 360 Clinic
A full-time, 6 month fixed term contract post has arisen within Vhi for a Consultant Paediatrician – General Paediatrics.
The Consultant will work alongside the existing consultant General Paediatricians to further advance the development of General Paediatrics and the capacity within this service to provide a responsive service to our customers alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team.
We are seeking candidates with significant experience in clinical practice in the area of General Paediatrics in a scheduled care setting – an area of special interest is desireable.

Role Purpose
The Consultant will:
* Provide clinical duties across general and developmental paediatric services.
* Primarily support the general paediatric clinic assessing, diagnosing and treating children with a range of clinical and developmental conditions.
* Be part of the paediatric MDT, (nursing, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, psychology)
* Support the implementation of the service specification for paediatric services within Vhi H&W
Education & Experience
* Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the specialty of paediatrics
* Experience and/or specialist interest desireable;
* Experience of delivering care within the Irish health system – either private or public
* Demonstrated alignment to Vhi values
Skills and Abilities
* Excellent clinical skills from investiagation through to diagnosis and management;
* Strong teamwork & communication skills especially across an MDT;
* Strong service development skills with a focus on quality improvement and assurance.
