Position Description
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) protects the rights and freedoms of the individual by imposing legal obligations on all organisations involved in the processing of personal data of EU Citizens, emphasising transparency, security, and accountability.

We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Data Protection Team Member to work with the ESB Data Protection Officer and Business Unit Data Stewards to ensure our ongoing compliance with GDPR Regulation.

The role of the Data Protection Team Member involves responsibilities for subject access requests, data breach incident assessments, compliance and KPIs reporting across ESB. This role involves working closely with key stakeholders across ESB and you will be expected to carry out tasks and responsibilities as assigned, in a competent, timely, and safe manner.

As a Data Protection Team Member, you will manage and respond to Data Protection queries, complaints and incidents and work closely with the business in monitoring their adherence to the GDPR Regulation and support them in any remediation activities that are required.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage the execution and fulfilment of Data Subject Rights requests and queries.
* Manage data breach incidents notifications and work closely with the business to assess, close and implement any corrective actions required.
* Provide data protection support and foster strong relationships with Data Stewards across the Group as required.
* Provide data protection support to the business in managing compliance with the principle of privacy by design for new processes/activities being implemented that involves the processing of personal data. (e.g., development of Data Protection Impact Assessments and assessment of third-party service providers).
* Support in the delivery of KPI monitoring, reporting and analysis as required.
* Actively participate in quarterly governance meetings with business units.

Essential
Experience and Qualifications

* Third level degree or equivalent work experience, plus minimum 2-3 years relevant experience.
* Ability to work with highly confidential documents and information.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and general writing skills.
* Strong reporting, analytical and documentation skills are also required.
* Excellent planning and organising skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
* Familiarity with M365 suite of products (Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint).
* Demonstration of your Continued Professional Development is essential.

Desirable

* Aptitude towards IT and Business Process design.
* Data Protection certifications would be an advantage, though not essential
* Legal or Internal Audit experience would be an advantage, though not essential

Location
This position will be based in ESB Head Office, 27 Fitzwilliam St, Dublin 2.

ESB is committed to smart working – combining digital tools with a culture of trust and empowerment to enable flexible ways of working. The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least
two
anchor days per week. All smart working arrangements are subject to manager approval and ongoing review, based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the individual.
Reporting To
This role will report to the ESB Data Protection Officer.

Salary
€41,500 - €48,800 per annum (depending on experience)
