Post ID: 038892 Post Summary**:-** Reporting to the Head of Teaching, Research and User Experience, the Subject Librarian works as part of a team to design, deliver, coordinate, and assess a range of learning activities for the development of digital and information literacies across the university. They provide dedicated support to undergraduate and postgraduate students and researchers and staff in The Faculty of Health Sciences and The Faculty of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. They implement innovative pedagogical practices, both in person and online, that are impactful and deliver an excellent learner experience. The Subject Librarian progresses the strategic aims of the Library and contributes to the Universitys teaching and learning strategy. Post status: Specific Purpose Contract This specific purpose contract is for filling an Assistant Librarian 2 vacancy on a temporary basis pending the return of the postholder from authorised leave. Employment is not offered on an indefinite duration basis as the original postholder is expected to return. If the postholder does not return to work the post will be filled through open competition. The Unfair Dismissals Acts, 1977-2015 shall not apply to your dismissal consisting only of the cessation of the said purpose. Hours of Post: 35 hours per week Salary: This appointment will be made on the Assistant Librarian 2 Salary Scale (€46,242 - €63,550 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy. monthly/weekly payscales.
