This position focuses on the installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead power lines, including LV, MV, HV, Transmission, and Distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities 1.
Installation of Overhead Power Lines Pole and Tower Erection : Install poles and towers to support overhead lines.
Wire Stringing and Securing : String wires between structures, ensuring proper tension and alignment.
Hardware Installation : Mount transformers, insulators, switches, and other critical hardware.
Blueprint Interpretation : Follow technical drawings for accurate installations.

Maintenance of Overhead Power Lines Routine Inspections : Identify signs of wear or damage on power lines and associated equipment.
Preventive Maintenance : Replace worn components and tighten connections as needed.
Vegetation Management : Clear vegetation around power lines in collaboration with arborists.

Repair and Emergency Response Troubleshooting : Diagnose and address issues like voltage drops and outages.
Repair Work : Replace damaged poles, splice wires, and resolve other system faults.
Emergency Response : Respond to outages and urgent issues in challenging environments.
Fault Location : Use specialized tools to pinpoint issues and facilitate repairs.

Safety and Compliance Safety Protocols : Adhere to strict safety procedures while handling high-voltage systems.
PPE Usage : Wear and maintain appropriate protective gear.
Regulatory Compliance : Perform all work in line with local electrical and safety standards.

Climbing and Working at Heights Pole Climbing : Safely climb poles using harnesses and other safety equipment.
Aerial Work : Operate bucket trucks and lifts under various conditions.
6.
Equipment and Tool Handling Tool Operation : Skillfully use cable tensioners, wire cutters, and other tools.
Equipment Maintenance : Inspect and service heavy equipment, such as cranes and lifts.
7.
Customer Service and Communication Public Safety : Maintain systems to minimize risks to the public.
Outage Communication : Provide customers with updates on repair timelines.
Stakeholder Coordination : Work closely with utility teams and managers.

Training and Development Skill Enhancement : Attend training programs to stay updated on industry advancements.
Certification Maintenance : Keep all required climbing and high-voltage certifications current.
Requirements Experience : Minimum of 1 year as an OLEC linesman.
Technical Expertise : Proficient in inspecting and repairing overhead line systems.
Certifications :Valid Safe Pass.Current Manual Handling Certificate.Irish Rail Personal Track Safety certification (preferred).First Aid certification (advantageous).
Skills :Strong communication and teamwork abilities.Ability to perform under pressure.Proficiency in English.
