Job Title: Staff Nurse-Radiology

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Nurse-Radiology to join our hospital team in Galway, Ireland. This is a permanent, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week over 5 days, Monday to Friday.

About the Role:
Assess patients before radiological procedures, reviewing their clinical history and ensuring informed consent is obtained. Conduct safety checks and prepare patients appropriately for procedures including NBM status, IV access, and required pre-medications.
Explain procedures clearly to patients and families, providing reassurance while verifying identity and allergies. Complete all required checklists and documentation as necessary.
Assist radiologists and radiographers during diagnostic and interventional procedures maintaining sterile technique positioning patients safely operating monitoring equipment effectively.

Maintain accurate comprehensive nursing documentation manage clinical supplies equipment ensure readiness of emergency equipment report any faults promptly.

Ongoing Professional Development: The ideal candidate will have current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) in the General Division accompanied by a recognised degree or diploma in general nursing or equivalent qualification.
A minimum two years post-registration nursing experience within an acute hospital environment ideally within perioperative day surgery endoscopy ICU A&E or other procedural areas demonstrates your suitability for this role.
