4-Month Fixed-Term Contract Role Purpose The Senior Accountant is a qualified and experienced individual responsible for executing the core operational, reconciliation, and reporting processes to ensure theaccuracy, integrity, and efficiencyof Group financial records.
This role willsupport the Assistant Finance Manager (AFM)by handling key transactional and reporting duties, freeing the AFM to focus on control oversight, process improvement, and deputising responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities Operational Finance & Controls Execution of the full Accounts Receivable (AR) cycle, including processing invoices, allocating receipts, performing reconciliations, and supporting debt management efforts for the Group.
Perform and review daily bank reconciliations across all Group accounts.
Prepare payment batches for review and authorisation by the Assistant Finance Manager or Finance Manager.
Assist the AFM in maintaining and reviewing internal controls and ensuring compliance with dual signatory requirements for all transactions.
Reporting & Governance Support Prepare all key journals and complex reconciliations necessary to support a timely and accurate month-end close.
Support the AFM by consolidating data and preparing supporting schedules for the monthly management accounts and initial variance analysis .
Prepare working papers and supporting documentation required for the annual external audit.
Ensure all income and expenditure are accurately recorded and coded according to the general ledger structure.
Process Support & Technical Input Assist the AFM in driving system automation and process improvements within the primary ERP system (e.g., Sage Intacct).
Provide technical accounting expertise and guidance on daily transactional postings and reconciliations.
Act as a point of escalation for complex operational finance queries.
Qualifications and Experience Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with 3+ years PQE .
Proven experience in an audit.
