Job Description
This role reports directly to the Regional Coordinator. Working in a team, you will undertake the screening of babies in the first few days of their lives. You should be reliable, possess good communication skills, and be comfortable working with mothers and very young babies. You will be passionate about providing a family-friendly yet professional experience for both mother and baby during the screening process.
Main Responsibilities
1. Promote a professional, welcoming, and caring environment with a family-friendly approach to care.
2. Communicate with and provide information to parents regarding hearing screening and obtain parental consent.
3. Carry out the hearing screening of newborn babies.
4. Inform parents of the screening outcome according to Local & National Hearing Screening Programme (NHSP) protocols.
5. Record clinical and test data accurately and ensure timely transfer of information to the manager.
6. Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
7. Be aware of child protection issues and adhere to local procedures.
8. Keep up-to-date with procedures and policies relevant to this role.
9. Ensure the safety and security of equipment and report any issues promptly.
10. Participate in a rota to cover colleagues' sickness and leave as needed.
11. Work flexibly when required.
Qualifications
* Excellent Customer Service Skills.
* Proven experience working with people.
* Strong IT skills are essential.
* Healthcare background is desirable.
