Job Title: Associate - Compliance Division/Function: NTMA Compliance Unit Reports to: Compliance Manager - Deputy MLRO Contract Type: 23 Month FTC **** Closing Date for Applications 29th October 2025 **** Summary of the Business: The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) provides asset and liability management services to the Irish Government. It has evolved from a single function agency managing the National Debt to a manager of a complex portfolio of public assets and liabilities. Businesses managed by the NTMA include borrowing for the Exchequer and the management of the National Debt, the State Claims Agency, the New Economy and Recovery Authority, the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, the National Development Finance Agency and the NTMA Future Ireland Funds business unit with responsibility for the management of the Future Ireland Fund and Infrastructure, Climate and Nature Fund. In addition, the NTMA assigns staff and provides services to the National Asset Management Agency, the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland and Home Building Finance Ireland (together the "Affiliate Agencies"). Role Summary: This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and motivated Graduate to join theNTMA Compliance Uniton a 23-month Associate Programme commencing in September 2026. The programme is open to graduates with a degree inLaw / Compliance / Riskor related discipline. The NTMA Compliance Unit provides support and assurance on compliance matters in respect of the wide range of businesses across the NTMA and Affiliate Agencies. The Compliance Unit provides independent challenge, advice and support to the Agency, various Boards/Committees and staff in relation to their statutory, governance and other compliance obligations. The NTMA Compliance Unit also provides Compliance services (including anti-money laundering and data protection) to the NTMA Affiliate Agencies (NAMA, HBFI and SBCI). Principal Accountabilities: Reporting to the Compliance Manager, the successful candidate will be an ambitious individual/recent graduate, who will work within a dynamic team in relation to general compliance matters, including related to data protection and financial crime closely with all members of the team, primary responsibilities as Compliance Associate will involve providing support in relation to general compliance matters as well as tasks related to data protection and financial crime risk including: Providing general support to team members regarding the delivery of the annual compliance and data protection plan, including the performance of compliance monitoring, reviews and tasks. Providing support regarding the administration of the compliance training and communications plan. This will include the tracking of joiners/leavers/contractors, assigning relevant training and support regarding the annual roll out of training Supporting the Compliance Manager in maintaining a schedule of governance reporting required for the year at upcoming Board and Committee meetings and acting as a support to the Compliance Manager in ensuring that there is an awareness in the team of relevant submission dates. Monitoring Compliance group mailboxes and assigning queries received to the relevant team members. Scheduling meetings (e.g. review and oversight meetings) within the Compliance team and with other business areas as necessary and ensuring that supporting material has been circulated and is available to the meeting participants. Supporting team members in the collation of relevant metrics required for governance reporting and service delivery information. Tracking Gifts & Hospitality notifications received and raising any necessary queries with the Senior Compliance Managers/Head of Compliance. Assisting other Team members with periodic Assurance and Monitoring work (including the co-ordination of year-end Attestations, Statutory Obligations sign-offs and the Integrated Assurance exercise) and issuing reminders to the business areas on any outstanding input/sign-offs as necessary. Assisting team members with financial crime risk related checks on counterparties of the relevant NTMA Business Units and its Affiliate Agencies as necessary. Assist with updating Compliance training/presentation material with guidance from more senior team members. Supporting team members in dealing with ad-hoc queries and requests for advice as appropriate. Knowledge Some understanding of financial markets and knowledge of products, services and practices within the financial services sector. Awareness of compliance, data protection and financial crime obligations. Strong IT skills to include familiarity with MS Office, in particular Excel, MS Teams and project management tools. Experience Ability to work in a pressurised environment, managing internal and external relationships. The candidate should hold a relevant third level qualification or equivalent relevant professional qualification. Skills Team player, self-starter, highly motivated and capable of working on own initiative Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills are a prerequisite for this position as relationship building is key in our complex organisation Methodical approach to completing assigned tasks and monitoring exercises Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong Microsoft skills (e.g. excel, powerpoint) Good analytical skills and capacity to form balanced and objective views Proactive approach in seeking solutions to support compliance across all of the NTMA businesses and Affiliate Agencies At the end of the programme the successful Associate will have developed a solid knowledge base of the NTMA Compliance unit and the wider NTMA.
