Radiographer – Permanent, Full Time
At Galway Clinic we are seeking a Basic Grade Radiographer to join our dynamic Imaging Service and contribute to the delivery of high-quality diagnostic care.
The role is permanent full time 35 hours per week.
Responsibilities
Undertake radiographic and imaging examinations in a professional manner.
Adhere to professional guidelines of the Irish Institute of Radiographers and Radiation Therapists and maintain a high standard of radiography.
Ensure that the three principles of radiation protection (justification, optimisation and dose constraints/limits) are adhered to.
Take part in routine daily inspection of equipment and quality assurance procedures.
Adhere to all departmental imaging protocols.
Report any defects or occurrences either directly to the Manager or Clinical Specialist in the area where working.
Keep up-to-date with current techniques and developments in radiographic and imaging procedures and participate in in-service training as required.
Actively participate in continuing professional development.
Carry out all other duties as directed by the Radiology Services Manager, Clinical Specialist in the area where working.
Respect and maintain the privacy, dignity and confidentiality of the service user and in relation to all hospital activities as per statutory requirements.
Qualifications
Have the diploma of the College of Radiographers (Diagnostic) or a bachelor of Science, or its equivalent in Diagnostic Radiography.
Must be registered with CORU.
Demonstrate experience working with a team of radiographers.
Have proven ability to work under pressure.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Evidence of continuing professional development.
Have a high capacity for responsibility and individual initiative.
Flexibility in role and take on additional duties as required.
