Overview
Data Center Technician at CBRE – Dublin, Ireland. This role requires a full clean driving licence, some travel to satellite sites in Dublin, and operates on a shift pattern.
Responsibilities
* Complete tasks to specified standards
* Be fully aware of sources for technical and procedural guidance
* Hands and Eyes support after instruction from support groups, including:
* Physical reboots of devices
* Checking for hardware failure lights
* Checking for console error messages
* Assist in resolution of physical network faults and hardware problems
* Load/unload tapes or CD media to support recovery of a server
* Amber light sweeps
* Maintain asset inventory
* Load/unload tapes within agreed SLAs and ad hoc requests
* Maintain relevant logs, including logging calls and time to resolve
* Respond to problems promptly using approved procedures
* Assist to cover colleague leave and other absences, including some out-of-hours on-call work
* Respond to ad-hoc Hands and Eyes tasks that are scripted/documented while coordinating with team members
* Alert the Manager to actual or potential service problems
* Assist with media changes as required
* Complete ad hoc activities at Team Leader/Manager request
* Host customer engineers/3rd party visitors into the machine halls and liaise with support teams as required
* Conform to departmental procedures and current SLAs/DOUs
* Refer to the Manager for procedural guidance
* Perform any other duties reasonably requested by the Company
* Travel to site during on-call shifts must be completed within the hour
* Cabinet cleaning as requested

* Monitor customer environment and report discrepancies
* Escalate critical issues within the customer reporting change control processes
Qualifications
* PC literate with confidence handling IT hardware
* Data centre experience
* Full clean driving licence
