This is afull-time role(Monday to Friday, 8:00am4:00pm) offering anattractive hourly rate of £19.11. The initial contract is for6 months, with strong potential for extension based on performance. As aMechanical Engineering Technicianwithin theFleet Mechanical & Engineering teamat NIFRS, you will play a key role in ensuring the operational readiness of all specialist vehicles and equipment across three regional workshops. Your primary responsibilities will include: Inspection, diagnostics, planned maintenance, emergency repairs, bodywork, coach building, and modifications to a diverse fleet of emergency service vehicles and operational equipment. Youll be expected to apply your expertise across multiple mechanical disciplines, demonstrating flexibility and technical excellence in every task. To maintain 24/7 operational resilience, youll also participate in the Regional Standby Rota, providing critical out-of-hours support, including emergency repairs, equipment servicing, and vehicle recovery in response to live operational incidents.
