The role
AECOM is recruiting for an Electrical Building Services Engineer to join the Dublin office. The role requires site presence three days per week; the remaining two days are remote.
Responsibilities
Your day-to-day will include:
Assurance and design of electrical engineering elements for infrastructure projects including airfield developments, site works, utilities, buildings, building services, external works, car parks and minor road infrastructure.
Alignment with Functional or Delivery teams, supporting multiple Delivery Programmes.
Ensuring designs and contract documentation meet programme timelines, quality and budget requirements while following governance and control procedures.
Assessing engineering requirements across programmes to confirm technical feasibility and alignment with strategic objectives.
Supporting projects through all lifecycle stages, managing interfaces, dependencies and competing priorities.
Collaborating with programme teams to ensure contractor compliance with approved designs.
Providing technical assurance and ensuring compliance with codes of practice, ICAO/EASA standards, statutory requirements and best practice.
Reviewing and approving engineering calculations, drawings, specifications and technical documentation according to the quality management system.
Ensuring designs fully address client brief and stakeholder expectations while complying with planning conditions, building regulations, fire safety requirements, airport directives and all relevant regulatory obligations.
Participating in airside risk assessments and supporting the implementation of agreed mitigation measures.
Assisting in the preparation of tender documentation and supporting the procurement and management of design services and construction contractors.
Reviewing, issuing and monitoring Site Work Procedure documentation for airside construction activities.
Preparing technical specifications, reports, surveys and site investigations, engaging with clients, stakeholders and project teams throughout the programme lifecycle.
Providing professional technical guidance and mentorship to engineering personnel across Delivery Programmes.
Ensuring recommended engineering solutions are robust, operationally effective, sustainable and deliver best value throughout the asset lifecycle.
Qualifications
Minimum 10 years relevant experience delivering aviation infrastructure projects or other similar complex engineering projects.
Experience acting as Design Lead on multi‑million‑euro projects, reviewing and approving designs prepared by internal teams, consultants and contractors.
Strong understanding of safety requirements, operational constraints and regulatory processes for airside infrastructure design and construction.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite for design coordination, documentation, reporting and project management activities.
Proficiency with discipline‑specific engineering software relevant to building services and infrastructure project design and delivery.
