Senior Financial Accountant – Cork
Our client, a well‑established and growing Cork‑based business, is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join their expanding finance team. Operating in a dynamic, evolving environment, the company has recently strengthened its presence in the Irish market and is embarking on a phase of integration and growth.
This role is ideal for a results‑driven finance professional with a background in financial accounting and reporting who wishes to play a key role in a fast‑paced, growing business.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare monthly management accounts to strict deadlines
* Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and prepare monthly financial packs
* Manage monthly bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data
* Assist with KPI reporting and the preparation of monthly management reports
* Contribute to monthly forecasting and budgeting processes
* Conduct variance analysis and provide financial insights to support decision‑making
* Support the annual audit and liaise with external auditors
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with at least 5 years post‑qualification experience
* Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and practices
* Proven analytical and problem‑solving skills
* Commercially aware with the ability to contribute strategically to financial planning
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage at all levels
