On behalf of our client, we are currently seeking an
Assistant Accountant
to join their finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role will support core general ledger, reporting, and tax-related activities, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial records and timely reporting.
The successful candidate will gain exposure to month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, tax and statutory reporting, and audit support within a professional, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Support day-to-day general ledger accounting activities
* Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
* Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
* Perform balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations and follow up on variances
* Support profit & loss analysis and reporting for management
* Assist with VAT, corporate tax, and regulatory reporting requirements
* Provide information and support for statutory and external audits
* Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and procedures
* Collaborate with internal teams including tax, treasury, legal, and shared services
* Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the finance function
* Support other general accounting and reporting tasks as required
Skills & Experience
* 2+ years' experience in an accounting or finance role, ideally within a multinational or structured environment
* Strong understanding of general ledger accounting principles
* Experience using an ERP system/s
* Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
* Good analytical skills with strong attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Proactive, flexible, and team-oriented approach
Qualifications
* Degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
* Part-qualified or studying towards a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) is desirable
