Social Care Worker Respite Service
We are currently recruiting for a Social Care Worker for our Respite Services.
The role is full-time, 156 hours per 4-week roster, depending on organisational/staff requirements. Shift, evening, and weekend work will be involved.
The Social Care Worker will provide day-to-day personal care and support for Service Users. The candidate must believe that individuals with intellectual disabilities have unique, equal, and valuable contributions to society.
The respite service offers planned breaks for adults in the CHO5 area, aiming to provide quality, meaningful holidays tailored to each individual's preferences.
Qualifications & Experience
* QQI Level 7/8 Degree in Social Care/Social Care Studies or equivalent.
* Registration with the social care workers register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board (CORU).
* OR hold a CORU-approved social care worker qualification and have applied for registration; evidence of application required.
* OR a minimum of 2 years post-qualification social care experience in intellectual disability care.

The Social Care Worker will work with management to ensure Service Users lead safe, high-quality, meaningful, and inclusive lives while in the respite service, reflecting Delta Centre's core values and care plans.
Key responsibilities include:
* Ensuring dignity, respect, and choice for Service Users.
* Building trust through consistent care.
* Implementing and reviewing Care Plans and Person-Centered Plans.
* Facilitating Service Users' communication and independence.
* Supporting community involvement and future aspirations.
* Adhering to policies, procedures, and statutory legislation, including HIQA standards, HSE policies, and safeguarding protocols.
* Encouraging independence, respecting rights and choices, and fostering initiative.
