This is a fantastic opportunity for a culinary professional to take full ownership of a well-established kitchen, leading a small and dedicated team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
As Executive Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen operation, including menu creation, team leadership, stock control, food safety, and ensuring the highest standards of culinary excellence. This role requires a hands-on leader who is creative, organised, and committed to showcasing the best of locally sourced ingredients.
Our client is a small, well-regarded hotel located in the heart of Galway. With a strong reputation for quality and service, the hotel offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere and prides itself on providing an outstanding culinary experience to both guests and local patrons.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring efficiency and quality at all times.
* Develop innovative, seasonal menus that highlight local produce.
* Lead, train, and motivate a small team of chefs and kitchen staff.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen in line with HACCP and food safety standards.
* Manage kitchen budgets, including food cost control and stock management.
* Work closely with hotel management to align food offerings with customer expectations and business goals.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-quality restaurant or hotel kitchen.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a kitchen team.
* Passion for fresh, local ingredients and creating exceptional dishes.
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
* Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, cost control, and food safety standards.
* Must be currently residing in Ireland and have the right to work in the Republic of Ireland (ROI).
